Ellie Bags Her First Competition Prizes

Ellie our MG mascot, strutted her stuff today at the Weald Park Country Show 5th May and managed to come 3rd in cutest pup category and 5th in prettiest bitch......Well Done Ellie!!

Holly Collas who is the editor of Enjoying MG has been looking for an editorial assistant to help her and look to resolve any mistakes that may take place before being published. The role has now been filled by Ross Mitchell who, will also be a point of contact at MGOC.
​
If any members wish to get in touch with him - phone or email, please remember to give him the area name and number (0907 MID-ESSEX MGOC). Ross will also be dealing with the social media for MGOC so look to like and share when possible.
​
Holly Collas will still deal with the odd email or two however, she will be contact for any main content articles for the magazine (about annual runs etc).

Annual General Meeting - 6th August 2018
​
Its that time of the year when we hold our AGM. The meeting will be held at The Top Oak starting around 8pm. This year our current Chairman Vic and Treasurer Colin, will be stepping down this year so Cathy has been giving out forms for nominations for these roles.
​
If you are interested then please put your name forward and those entered will be put forward and subject to voting, move into there new roles.
​
If you cannot make the AGM, please let Cathy or Brian know at your earliest convience.

Mid Essex MG Christmas Do - 14th December 2018
​
For our Christmas Do we have booked the Cliffs Pavillion. There is a three course meal with the Jersey Boys Show plus a disco. Meet time is around 7.30pm and runs till 1.30am.
​
The cost is £45 per head and we require a deposit of £22.50 per head which, can be paid to Colin at the next Club meeting or next event.
Abridge Motorfest - 17th June 2018
​
We had 178 cars attend the show and we raised £390 from the Tombola for GOSH.
​
Best in Show was a pink Cadilac, Best Classic was a Rover P5, Best American was a 1965 Shelby Mustang, Best Commercial was a Morris Minor 1000 van, Best Motorbike was a Yamaha 200cc and Best Club Stand was Brentwood Land Rover Club.

MG E-Motion EV Sports Car Set For Production 2020
MG looks like they are finally going back to there sports car roots, with the E-Motion, a curvy electric coupe concept. Set for production in 2020 with a price tag of around £30,000.
​
The response from the public and alike has been very positive and likely to get the green light. The all electric powertrain gives it a claimed 0-62mph in less than 4 seconds and a range of over 310 miles.
Quiz + Fish & Chip Night - 28th October 2017

We are holding our Quiz night at The Social Club, Goldington Crescent Billericay Essex CM12 0XR, starting at 7pm.
​
The cost is £8 per person and includes a fish and chip meal plus tea and coffees.
There will also be a raffle (as it's near Halloween) where we will be giving out prizes for the best costume if, people dress up.
​
All monies raised will be going to Great Ormond Street Hospital in memory of little Max.
​
Everybody is welcome, friends, family, work colleagues to help make up your table.
It should be a good night out!
Bath Christmas Markets - 26th November 2017
Only £15 per person - tickets still available
This year we have arranged our own executive transport to travel to Bath, for there fabulous Christmas Market stalls.
​
The coach will be picking members up at 7am at 1 Fowler Road, Hainault Essex and the return will be leaving Bath around 6.30pm
​
We are also looking for places where we can eat for lunch, updates will be given out nearer the time. We do have some tickets left so if you have any friends and family who you feel would enjoy a day out, then see if they would like to come.
Club Christmas Dinner - 1st December 2017
Our Club Christmas dinner is being held at The Hunters Meet, Hatfield Heath. The cost per head is £39.00 for a four course meal which, includes live entertainment, the theme is 50's & 60's so, if you want to dress up for these eras, then that would be great.
Some of our ladies have already arranged their costumes!

There are still rooms available if you would like to stay the night, prices are £72 which includes a nice breakfast in the morning.
